FOD means foreign object debris — a coin, a key, anything metal that ends up on a charging pad. CFA checks that a wireless charger keeps those objects below the temperature that burns skin.

Verifies that a battery's safety systems hold under both charge and discharge. Low-cost devices often ship scaled-back battery management, meaning fewer of the circuits that stop a cell overcharging or overheating. This test shows whether that is a problem in your product.

Li-Ion charge and discharge safety mechanisms

Measures how hot a device runs at its full rated power, held there over an extended period rather than sampled once. Required for high-power USB-C chargers — the kind that can run a laptop — and for 5-pin cable tips.

Checks for

Thermal margin at maximum rated power, sustained

Takes performance data across a sample of 30 or more units and reads it as a set. Patterns show up here that no single unit would reveal — a drift across a production run, or a margin that is thinner than one device suggests.
